This blog has been in a coma since June, its only lifeline being that tiny Plurk widget i have in the sidebar. For the most part, I’ve been content in playing my role as a social media guy ,doing social media stuff for companies from way behind the scenes and keeping in touch with the online community in my own subtle ways. But then nature decides to make us its whipping boy and sends us Tropical Storm Kestana, better known locally as the fucktard Ondoy. And the country receives over a month’s worth in rainfall in less than 12 hours.
I am thankful that by some wave of luck that I don’t know how I deserved, the wife and I were spared from the devastation that Ondoy wrought upon most of the country. I feel extremely blessed that while our families may have lost quite a bit of their possesions, all of them are safe and accounted for and are no longer in need of rescue. However, many, much too many, cannot say the same.
Over 250 people have already been confirmed dead. Over half a million Filipinos find themselves displaced, the lot of them losing very nearly everything they own. And as the days roll on, these numbers will continue to rise. But this then is our test, all of us who are the least bit able. Typhoon Ondoy requires the best from every single one of us. Too many things, not the least bit the constant circus act that is the Philippine government, have made a lot of us apathetic. This is not the time for us to succumb to that. Because the truth of the matter is we can make a difference. Do not think that just because you can’t do much means you shouldn’t do anything at all. Because at this point, every little bit helps.
Below are some sites where you can contribute to the effort to recover from Ondoy. And no, if you do not have enough to spare to make a donation, you do not have to. Just spreading the word to those who might will be good enough:
really requires the best of us,, that is why we need to be vigilant..

Posted by Cellulite Treatment at May 16, 2010, 6:57 pmI had a desire to begin my own business, however I didn’t earn enough amount of money to do it. Thank goodness my mate advised to utilize the personal loans. Hence I took the financial loan and realized my old dream.

Thank you for the shortlist of resources of places where people can contribute and helping them get assurance that their money will not go to the pockets.
