Planning an I.PH EB
October 30, 2006I was trawling the i.ph forums a few hours ago when I came across some people who were interested in possibly holding an eye ball for i.ph users. The idea of a Halloween costume party came up a few times and that would have really rocked. Alas, it seems we would be much too pressed for time as Halloween is uh…tomorrow. That however does not mean that we can't have an EB. I personally thought it would be wicked cool to meet up with the other i.ph users. And yes, if you folks are still up to it, I think costumes are great even if we do the EB in mid November. Don't worry, I won't be going as Winnie the Pooh. i have no plans of going to jail for that…again. I'll choose a character that's fully clothed this time. I promise.
If you are interested in attending an i.ph EB, please send me an email at peter [AT] domains [dot] ph and tell me where you will be coming from, your suggestions to when and where we will hold the EB and while you're at it, let me know your URLs so I can link you up. You might also want to tell me a few things about yourself or even share your love problems. Who knows, I may be in the mood to give you some advice. Anyway, I'm hoping we can round up at least 20 people for this. More would be better though. A nice big EB with all the trimmings. Whooptedoo! Ok I'm rambling now. I am serious though. Really. I am. Do let me know. I will now wait patiently in front of my computer for your emails. I go now.
A Ridiculously Delayed Post About the Philippine Blogcon
October 1, 2006Monday, September 25, at the last minute, we decided to head on to National Sports Grill in Greenbelt 3 to attend the 2006 Philippine Blog Conference. I was more than a little pissed at myself for not having my trusty Pentax on me. Practically everyone at the event was clicking away and taking photos and there I was, suffering from separation anxiety from my beloved camera. As a result, whatever pictures you see here would have been donated by problogging guru and friend, J.Angelo. (Thanks bro! I just realized something, Problogging Guru and Friends sounds like an awesome title for a podcast! No? Meh. What do I know? I'm a walrus. Ok, me stop babbling now)
First off, I gotta send out some mad props to the organizers, headed by no less than Grand Blog Master Yuga, (blog be with you) as things turned out real nice. The conference aspect was in no way boring and I actually learned a couple of things. Getting a chance to meet some of the country's high profile bloggers was a definite highlight.
I was glad to have been there to represent I.PH together with web ninja Randy. Most of these people saw the devlopments for version 2 when it was presented at the iblog summit and it's pretty cool that some of them remain pretty excited about it. Mike Abundo, who happens to have a generation 1 I.PH account even requested for an upgrade. Oh and I was also with TMB and Dashmedia site guy, Marco Palinar and it's nice that people at the event expressed interest and even support for the Dashmedia project. We also received some suggestions here and there and I truly am grateful for that.
I finally got to meet SEO Guru Marc Macalua and it was nice that he actually remembered seeing me around the ADMU campus. I guess he was a student there during my stint as groundskeeper. It was also cool to exchange Ideas with Jayvee
Fernandez and Rico Mossesgeld, two bloggers who I really admire and I mean that in a completely heterosexual manner.
I also met Karla who writes Rockersworld and I wish we got to chat a bit more because that was quite literally a meeting in passing. Annalyn Jusay was there so I got to meet her too. She said we looked young which is a total compliment because everyone knows I'm ancient. (That bloated my ego a bit because walruses hardly get compliments from hotties.) Oh and fellow man blogger Ade Magnaye was there as well and his "autograph" was quite valuable that evening. All in all, I had a pretty good time, which is weird as you guys just know how much I enjoy complaning.
P.S.
LINK LOVE!!! I may not have met you or got a chance to speak with you, but if you were there, you deserve a link!
